THE BOYD IS BACK IN TOWN.

For the last several months, I, RJ Bayley, have been hosting some of the craziest and most crucial cinematic podcasts you’re ever to lay your ears on, be it the insightful and analytical one two punch of film maker and film writer in the FILM CORPS, or the ever more debauched lunacy of the Marvel Vs. DC podcast.

“But where’s the horror?” you ask. “Where’s the equivalent of your signature horror podcast?” I hear you cry. But most of all my ears are pained with the constant ringing of “Bring back the Scottish woman” and “(you know, the one who kept trying to get you out on a date like in Frasier before it got really mediocre)”.

Fret no longer dear listeners, the Boyd is back in town. And with the Boyd comes her trademark bellicose boisterousness, belligerent betrayal of basic civil bases and brutish belching – and this time with added Bates!

Louise and I have not been so taken with a television show like we have been with Bates Motel for many years, and definitely never so together in our admiration of one. So enthusiastic are we that we decided to start a podcast chronically each episode, not unlike a certain landmark podcast of my podcasting heroes. In this we discuss the best, most intriguing, and most controversial aspects of the so far stunning Bates Motel – Sure we cover bits that don’t make sense to us, but that’s genuinely our failing because the show is so bloody clever and well crafted.

Unlike what I actually say at the start, this is not a grand retrospective of series one. You can watch it episode by episode and immediately listen to us after. And I advise you do.
