Well here it is, Goats In The Machine’s long-in-the-coming look at the Leprechaun sequels, namely Leprechaun 2, Leprechaun 3, Leprechaun 4: In SpaceLeprechaun 5: In the Hood and Leprechaun: Back 2 tha Hood.

In the name of continuity, and frankly to make the whole experience less painful, Louise Boyd and I are compelled to follow the format of our original Leprechaun episode; namely drinking profusely throughout the the show. Before long we’re hurtling down a whisky greased and  beer lubricated chute towards oblivion, taking pot-shots at all installments of arguably the worst long-running horror franchise.

Frankly the entire thing is like the Iraq war: its a complete shambles, the things that pass before one’s eyes are thoroughly distasteful, you’re not too proud to have done it in hindsight, and you need to be plenty drunk to make it enjoyable.

If you do want to join us on this frankly ludicrous journey you’ll be treated to:

  • RJ Bayley’s ever increasing inability to not free-associate words out loud
  • Where exactly Tyler Perry does fit in with the context of the Leprechaun Hood films
  • Louise’s mounting disgust at cinnamon/whisky Fireball shots
  • Which overlooked installment is the highlight of the series
  • How lobsters are actually immortal
  • What the Leprechaun’s actual name is
  • and the reason why Leprechaun 4: in Space was made in the first place – and much, much, oh its so long, much more.

If you really do want to stick the whole 2 hours of increasingly incoherent, pissed up waffle, then you’ll be treated to the sounds of Louise Boyd completely losing any semblance of intelligent thought and decending into a true miasma of inebriation.

This ones isn’t for the feint of heart. It really is a couple of hours of drunken rambling.
