Bloody great adverts for it too.

So. Here it is. The big one. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Broadcaster and film critic RJ Bayley and screen writer Niall ‘before Zod’ Heseltine give a suitably epic examination of the year’s biggest film. We delve into the fractured psychology of the caped crusader, why spectacle doesn’t come second to other aspects of movies, what makes one more compelling than the other, and how Zack Snyder is actually changing the language of cinema.
This podcast is choc full of spoilers from the start, but if you’re listening to this kind of podcast you’ve probably already seen the film haven’t you? Especially the kind of podcast that’s this long.

Broadcaster and film critic RJ Bayley and writer Niall ‘before Zod’ Heseltine return to tell you all about how Man of Steel doesn’t deserve the bad rep it’s been blasted with. Is a film that’s all flashy violence such a bad thing when the flashy violence is so good? Do they put Superman in such a position where the controversial final act is the only reasonable course of action? Find out in this podcast, which does not contain a ten minute kazoo intro.

It’s time for the big one, for me anyway. You’ll hear why in the podcast itself. If that’s not enticing enough (which it probably isn’t, to be fair), then tune in to hear writer Niall ‘before Zod’ Heseltine and myself, radio presenter RJ Bayley:

  • Amaze ourselves with the noises my shiney new microphone picks up.
  • Me inadvertently almost-damaging the ceiling of Niall’s new home mid recording.
  • Reasons why this version of Bane is every bit the villain Ledger’s Joker is.
  • Moments and references in to film to the comics.
  • How much we pity Superman fans.
  • Why the term ‘universe’ is over used.
  • What the hell has gone wrong with the Terminator franchise.

This is the big one. It’s been a while coming but here we are. The Marvel Vs. DC Movie Mash-Up arrives at arguably the most iconic Batman movie of them all, Chris Nolan’s epic The Dark Knight. Batfan Jon Seymour once again joins ever present hosts Niall ‘before Zod’ Heseltine and myself, RJ Bayley, for a very long, very nerdy, very passionate chat about the second installment of the Dark Knight Trilogy. We cover the what was, what is, what may be and what might have been of this truly seminal superhero saga. This is fully indulgent Bat fandom, so tuck in.

Batman Begins was the first in a series of films that entirely shaped my life. So to give it the dues it deserves I got completely blasted and joined my comparatively blasted co-host Niall “before Zod” Heseltine” for an exploration of the first film of The Dark Knight Trilogy. But to mark this special occasion we’re joined by screenwriter and all around tremendous fellow Jon Seymour who stirs a good few debates and delivers some delicious opinionation on whether the tumbler is or isn’t a/the Batmobile, the nature of Ras al’Ghul and his own history with not just the caped crusader, but all the films we’ve tackled so far.

Behold the drunken majesty that is BATMAN BLASTED.

What on earth lead to Batman striking this pose exactly?

The world’s greatest prank.

This is Niall ‘before Zod’ Heseltine’s and my podcast on the 1997 disaster that we all were sadly affected by. A lot of good brain cells died watching the film that brought you this podcast.

If you support the men giving their time to secure you this podcast please consider giving them a 5 star review on iTunes or buying something through their Amazon links. If not, how about a good review on Stitcher?

In this episode we look at which elements of theses neon hell don’t follow logic, and which just defy comprehension. We look at Poison Ivy’s plant-hybrid life and compare it to our theories on Superman in a previous podcast, the baffling lack of sense when it comes to ‘ice’ puns, Alfred’s complete dismissal of  Batman’s life, the fact that mirrors now apparently reflect all temperatures,  the idea that George Clooney plays Batman as a kind simpleton, Robin’s petulance and the massive issue of Batgirl’s weight.

Dirty Riddler, DIRTY!

Before you listen to this, I’d like you to bear in mind that for Niall and my last podcast in this series, I was awarded “Podcast Quote of 2014 by internet superhero mogul, Eyes Skyward.

I think I was taking Batman Forever as seriously as Joel Schumacher was taking the Batman franchise during the making of this podcast. To be fair to myself, and to a lesser extent Niall (but only because he was drunk to a lesser extent than me) needed an awful lot of alcohol to get through this movie.

Niall Heseltine and RJ Bayley return(s) for their blistering look at Batman ReturnsThis is probably the most impassioned podcast you’ll hear in the Marvel Vs. DC Movie Mash-Up podcast – from RJ Bayley at least.

Such a sudden increase in quality from Superman IV: The Quest for Piss has literally given regular hosts Niall and I whiplash. To help us deal with this debilitating injury we’ve drafted in the Film Corps’ Scott Forrest to take up our slack.
